Bak Kut Teh of Melaka / 马六甲的肉骨茶

Bak Kut Teh - pronounce as Bak Good Deh' - simply means 'pork meats herbal soup' in Hokkien (a Chinese dialect) or direct translation from Hokkien to English - Bak = Meat, Kut = Bone, Teh = Tea.

This Bak Kut Teh is one of the best delicacies in Malaysia Chinese community and it was well sought after by tourist in savoring its sinful-licious aroma and flavor. Once you had tried it, you would be looking for it on the next visit ... unless you got lousy copy of it ..LOL..

You can virtually find this delicacy on every part of Malaysia, unless those place where you hardly find any Chinese food. At least some Chinese food court or some chinese food stalls, you will find it there; except Pasar Malam( road side night market).

And this post here that I show was the Melaka edition. Same tasty but a little differ from my taste. Some like it strong herbal, some like it mild .... and for me .. i prefer strong ... You can't choose ... it was their dedicated style of each shop/restaurant, each have their own style.

The most common practice is to order a tea(usually come by pot). It is use to neutralize the after taste and also to enhance your taste bud sensitiveness ... hehehe

The ritual of tea - they usually offer you one more extra cup

This is the Bak Kut Teh / 肉骨茶. They usually have those internal organs comes along but you can always request not to have those organs. I don't like those organs thing... so I just order the plain one with lots of vege n mushrooms. Some did commented that - organs taste great~!

It also comes with some fried Golden Fingers aka 'Yau Jah Guai', sometimes you need to request for it(not free of charge). Garlic + soy sauce + dark soy sauce = Bak Kut Teh sauce ,
this will definitely give you a good Ommmphhh~! to taste bud. Caution, take some fresh mint candy after that to avoid bad mouth odour.

Tender juicy and yummy~! 香香的肉骨茶~!

Braised Chicken Feet, another yummy side dish~! ...however it wasn't that soft for my taste... I want it to be as soft as - one breath I can suck the whole meat off from it~!

Aftermath.... satisfied and full ^^
This bill only cost RM23 ~!!! far cheaper than KL one. KL one might be over RM30.

This place is situated at Melaka Raya. Just ask for the best Bak Kut Teh around. I think local Chinese may able to tell one or two for your interest. Final remark - it all depends on individual taste preference.
